I opened Evans Gallery in 1990, and it has become the longest established art gallery in the area. Evans Gallery is located in Marathon, Texas four doors east of the Gage Hotel between Front Street Books and Trans Pecos Bank. It serves to display the fine art of George Zupp and There is handmade jewelry by Paul Wiggins of Terlingua and my own silver gelatin and digital prints,and of course my two books Big Bend Pictures and Crazy From The Heat.

Store hours are 10 AM to 6 PM most days, however we are sometimes inspired by the light and can are very lax about consistency. I rarely hang out at the gallery because I am usually working in my darkroom or the shop, or in the park. If you are planning a trip and want to visit it is best to call or email me ahead of time. I like to meet with people, but you may need to make some effort. The bookstore staff next to us is very generous and tolerant of us and will open the door to the gallery for you if there is no one around. One more thing. My mate Marci Roberts works in the gallery and owns the French Company Grocery. She is usually bouncing back and forth between the two establishments. If the door is open and no one is around look for the phone on the countertop and call the number. Please use it. One of us will come right over. Thanks for being patient and understanding.
